Mental Health
The purpose of this test is to record your blood pressure activity over a 24-hour period while you perform your normal daily routine.
Procedure:
- A blood pressure monitor cuff will be positioned on your non-dominant arm and connected to a monitor, recording an initial result and then continue to do so over 24 hours. The cuff inflates every 30 minutes during the day and every hour during the night.
- Every time the monitor is about to take a reading, three short tones will be heard. You will have 5 seconds to relax your arm to your side, when safe to do so, then the cuff inflates. When measurement is complete, you will hear another longer tone.
- If measurement is unsuccessful, the monitor will try again 3 minutes later. Then a second measurement 17 minutes after.
There are no tones at night.
